Chyabrum

This maybe the most popular instrument of the Kirant community. Rai and Limbu people can often be seen enjoying their festivities and gatherings by playing this instrument. The instrument is quite large having a length of about 3 feet and is shaped like a glass. Both the ends are covered with skin. The larger end has a diameter of about 1 ½ feet while the smaller end’s diameter is about 1 inch. Different beats can be heard as one end is played by the hand and the other with a wooden stick.
